Description
‘Creativity’ and ‘discovery’ in the realm of art are often synonymous. Discovery is the ability to ‘see’ extraordinary potentials in an ordinary object. This ‘seeing’ or imagining) is the raw material for creation. When an artist applies his skills to give his discovery/imagination a ‘body’ that could be appreciated by a group of audience, a unique work of art is born!
This painting is inspired by a water picture that I took years ago. Open waters have limited transparency that allows only a vague images of their depth, while ripples obscure any clarity or permanency. Water surface in some areas act like mirror, reflecting the above light. The result is a dream-like image. The painting is divided into 2 main sections. The sky-blue area on the right appears like a fairy; the dark area on the left is home to demonic creatures, hence the title ‘Beauty & the Beast’.
